Deprecation of the Zoho CRM Activities Tab - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Effective February 28, 2024, Zoho will deprecate the Activities tab in Zoho CRM.  While the Activities tab will no longer be available, you may continue to work with activity records through the Tasks, Meetings and Calls modules.  Please note that this change primarily affects users who signed up for Zoho CRM prior to January 2022.  If you signed up after January 2022, it is likely you do not have the Activities tab to begin with.  We understand this is still a significant change for many Zoho CRM users and AspenTech CRM is here to assist.

What is being deprecated and when?

The Activities tab of Zoho CRM will be deprecated on February 28, 2024.  While the Activities tab will no longer be available, you may continue to work add new and work with existing activity records through the individual Tasks, Meetings and Calls modules. 

Why is the Activities tab being split and deprecated?

The Activities tab was a central module used to track your tasks, meetings and calls in a consolidated manner.  While it was useful as a central repository, the inherent differences between tasks, meetings and calls made it difficult to optimize and enhance the functionality of the Activities tab.  

Will I lose any activity records due to the deprecation of the Activities tab?

No, you will not lose any activity records data.  All of the activity records can already be seen in the individual Tasks, Meetings and Calls modules.  No data will need to be migrated either.

Is there a chance I will lose anything else?

While there is no chance of data loss in the Activities module or the resulting Tasks, Meetings and Calls modules, you may lose reports, dashboards/analytics components, home page components and Motivator components if these are not recreated in the new modules before February 28, 2024.  

What should I do before the deprecation?

You should begin recreating any necessary reports, dashboards/analytics components, home page components and Motivator components that are built on the old Activities module.  

What will happen if I don't do anything before the deprecation?

All of your Activity module data will be safe in the new Tasks, Meetings and Calls modules.  However, any reports, dashboards/analytics components, home page components and Motivator components that are still using the deprecated Activities module have not been recreated using the new modules will be lost on February 28, 2024.
